PUREBRED GELBVIEH & ANGUS CATTLE
Long Lane Cattle Co. is a progressive breeder of Purebred Gelbvieh and Angus Cross Cattle with a proven genetic track record.
Nestled in the stunning Southern Alberta landscape; Long Lane is located west of Redcliff on Highway 524. This 3200-acre parcel is made up of native grasses (2560 acres) and upgraded Alfalfa (640 acres), the perfect balance for both Commercial and Purebred Herds.
Our purebred herd is made up of Red and Black Gelbvieh cattle. Gelbvieh cattle are proven to have strong maternal instincts; mature more quickly compared to other breeds, and are known for their rate of gain. These Gelbvieh genetics have also been crossed into our commercial Angus herd creating great hybrid vigour in our calves; this makes retaining female calves easy and adds excellent pounds to our calves in the fall.
At Long Lane Cattle Co., we believe in our community and partnering with local organizations with the same commitment. That's why we are proud to partner with the Medicine Hat Brewing Co. This relationship allows us to receive beer mash from our local brewery to feed our cattle, and in turn, the brewery serves our beer mash fed beef. Literally, pasture to plate.
